Registries

We started registering for stuff the other day. It is so much fun! I have basically scoured Bed Bath and Beyond's website for anything organic, recycled, or bamboo that we need/want. Of course that's not the only type of items that we're registering for. I just get really excited about those. We've registered at Best Buy (duh!) and Potterybarn too. It's kind of difficult trying to figure out everything that I should register for. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I've been adding a few things every day as I think about them.

I've still got to register for some china which is the cute kind with a bird on it that my cousin Virginia got for her wedding last year (Chirp). The women in my family have good taste! I think my great grandmother would be so excited about all of this if she were still alive. She was amazing!

  1. Some of the best things we registered for were those items that are the basic-type things that you will NEED for a home no matter how you decorate or where you live. Ie. shower liners, mattress cover, door mat, mop, broom, etc. Those things add up quick in the check-out line! I know they aren't the most fun to register for or get as gifts but it does help bunches!

Some things that we knew would need to be replaced in a couple to several years, like bath towels, I got a duplicate set of and keep on hand for the day they need replacing. It is nice to have something new along the way that I didn't have to fork over the money for.

If I could do my registry over again, I would have gotten less decorative items and certain items in more basic colors, like the sheets. The reason being I want to decorate totally differently from when I picked out my registry items. Another reason, things in our home that we have now, like the tile floor, does not coordinate with our wedding gifts.

I remember being a bit overwhelmed by all the registries but you will totally get it sorted out! Have fun and let me know if I can help with anything!
